The FL-180A is a wow/flutter meter capable of measuring wow and flutter of a tape recorder VCR analog disk turntable‚ etc. The wow & flutter measuring range is from 0.003% to 10%‚ the measurement center frequency is 3 kHz ±300 Hz (JIS) the minimum input sensitivity is 0.5 mV and the meter indication can be selected to conform to any of the JIS NAV CCIR and DIN standards. In addition a 4-digit digital display counter and an audio compensation ON-OFF function are also provided.



  • 0.5 mV Input Sensitivity
    -The FL-180A can measure inputs as low as 0.5 mV, enabling it to directly measure wow & flutter of such low-level output voltages as those from tape playback heads and phono cartridges.
  • Measuring Range from 0.003% to 10%
    -The capability of measuring wow & flutter between 0.003% and 10% makes the FL-180A usable in a wide range, from low wow & flutter of high-class record /playback systems to the high wow & flutter of abnormal rotations.
  • Other Features
    - In addition to the 3 kHz measurement center frequency, measurement is also possible at a center frequency of 3.15 kHz, enabling measurements conforming to DIN standards.
    -The meter indication method can be selected as rms value (JIS), average value (NAB) or peak value (CCIR/DIN), enabling direct reading for any of these standards.
    -In addition to wow & flutter measurements with weighted and non-weighted characteristics, the FL-180A can also measure wow and flutter separately.
    -Highly stable crystal oscillator circuitry is built in for use as 3 kHz and 3.15 kHz recording signal sources to facilitate testing of record /playback systems.
    -Rotation speeds can be displayed digitally.
    -A 4-digit frequency counter is built in.
    -An operational monitoring lamp eliminates the need of input voltage and input frequency setting operations.
    -Outputs of various voltages for the connection of an oscilloscope or pen recorder, etc.
